Opening Day of Softball

Today was opening day of Softball and the first day to wear uniforms. As soon as we got out of the car, Caden and Noah caught up with us.

Laurens team name is the Springville Fire and their socks had flames on them. She was so excited to play her game today.Lauren with her friend, Maggy.
Lauren was taping everyone before the game started and she was taping me as I was taking her picture. She was telling me to smile. haThe coach with his 2 best girls.
Anna with her coach. The girls wanted the same numbers and they both chose #12.
Lauren at her game. Hey Batter, Batter..... How about a home run!!!!
Lauren's on 2nd base.
Anna and her friend, Mallory, cheering on the Springville Fire.
Anna and MalloryAnna and Hannah together. We played Hannah's team today and she is the pitcher of their team. Warming up. She seems to always have a ball in her hand.
Anna's team is the Springville Yellow jackets.

Hey # 12....How about a home run!!!

Hey Coach.......

Anna rounding out 3rd base trying to steal home.

Great game today girls.
Miss Anna leaving the ballpark.

I took a picture of the clouds as we were leaving the games. The clouds were so pretty but the weather was so crazy. Laurens game had a 15 minute lightning delay and Anna's game was between the rain showers.
We had a cookout tonight after the games and the girls got of the hot tub just before this happened.....We had piles of hail. Literally, huge piles of hail everywhere. This is off our back patio.

Crazy weather indeed.

Spring Break Cont.

Just for fun......

Spring Break Part2

The weather was so nice for spring break. It was in the 80's and we had some of our friends from Illinois here. All the trees are blooming. We have this tree in our yard and it is beautiful. Monica, Peggy and Deanna drove all night Thursday to get here. I think they finally arrived at 3 in the morning Friday and I was so happy to see them. After a short night, the fun began.

We spent lots of time in the yard playing. We hiked to the waterfalls and played ball.

We had some pitching lessons from a PRO.
We grilled out a couple of nights while the kids played in the hot tub. This particular night we grilled filet mignon and it was outstanding.
The kids were eating a picnic on the patio. We spent so much time outside just enjoying the outdoors in great company of friends. We had ball games on Saturday and we took the kids to eat lunch at Zaxbys.
The girl's car on the way to a softball game.
Anna's cheering section. What a lucky girl to be surrounded by wonderful friends cheering her on.

Ready to take the field with her pink and orange socks.

Waving before batting. Her smile was a mile wide.

Kristin cheering her on too.

She scored 2 runs in the game but her favorite is sliding to home base.

Anna's team won the first game and lost the second by one run . We are so blessed to have wonderful friends. The time always ends too quickly and I can't wait to visit this summer. You know, after the snow.
"Many people will walk in and out of your life, but only true friends will leave footprints in your heart" I am so lucky to have wonderful friends and we missed you Caryn, Taylor and Luke.

Spring

We just had the BEST Spring break EVER........

Spring Break

The weather has been in the 80's and the flowers are exploding here. The azaleas are in full bloom. The girls decided they would like to go on a picnic and visit the zoo. Our zoo has just renovated half the park and they wanted to go. Anna trying to climb the tree. She didn't get very far.
We sat by these flowers and they smelled amazing.

Anna was our tour guide. She held the map and decided where we should go.
Kristin was watching the ostrich.... she is not a bird fan.

Anna and Lauren love the Lorkeets.

Kristin is hiding behind the girls.
This is about as close as Kristin gets to the birds.

Her favorite part of the zoo is the train.
Training the lions.

We had softball practice after the zoo.We practiced from 4:30 to dark every night. Kristin has started smiling at the camera and this is her face. She half smiles with one side. so funny.
But when softball practice is over, this is where you find our family. 97 degrees of heaven.
