Birmingham Zoo

The weather was beautiful this weekend. It was in the 80's and we took the girls to the zoo. We fell in love with these birds. They are called Lorkeets. They will come sit with you and you can feed them nectar. Did I mention that Kristin has an aversion to Birds? Yep, big time. It started in a Indianapolis hotel with Jared and Julianne.Needless, she is less than fond of birds.
Can you sense the fear?

This one jumped on Anna.
Mom, Can we have one???

Kristin

I can't believe my little girl is growing up. She tries so hard to keep up with the big girls.
Kristin, I'm so lucky to be your mom.

Anna's 3rd grade Musical

The 3rd graders put on a Thanksgiving musical for family and friends. It was at 7:00pm at the school's auditorium. The theme was proud to be an American. They gave Anna a speaking part in the musical. Let me just say, I was amazed by these 3rd graders.
This little girl was sooo excited. The stage. I was amazed at the people in attendance. We guessed it was 350 to 400 people. All the seats were taken and people were standing in the back.

The 3rd graders came in the back and walked down the isles singing and waited to go on stage. Anna was right next to us singing. (I was the crazy mama taking lots of pictures.)
She is on the top right second row down.
Anna saying her part.

All the 3rd graders on the stage. The musical lasted about 1 hour. I am so proud of her.

She was exiting the stage and giving Lauren a high 5.

This was taken off the camera. Sorry it sounds like it's in a tunnel.

Inland Lake

There is a lake about 10 minutes from us and it is beautiful. It is flanked by the mountains and surrounded by rocks, big beautiful rocks. This lake is so quiet and surrounded by trees.
We go on Saturdays to play. You know, just to be kids again. It takes the big kids to convince the little kids to jump in.

Even the dogs like to go.

Being the only man in the house, he likes show his muscles:)

Oh, the days of Fall, Please stay around a little longer.

Chalkboard Labels

As a mom to 3 girls with lots of stuff, I'm always looking for a way to be more organized. When we moved into this house, I thought it would be for 5 minutes and then on to our new home;however, that was not the case. We have been in this house for months with no storage. I was looking for an easy way for the girls to keep their things put away. I am in love with chalkboard labels and decided to make my own. Kristin is always willing to help:)
First, I found these in the electrical dept of Lowes. They are blank outlet covers.

A quick coat of spray paint. You can use any color. I just used high gloss because it's what I already had. Then, take a screwdriver to open the screw holes up wider. It makes it easier to insert ribbon to secure them with.
I used a chalk pen to write on the labels. You just wipe it off and start over. Kristin helped me take pictures. She pushed avianna(her baby) in the crate.I put this label on a basket.

Iron Entry Gates

I'm looking for a set of iron gates for the driveway and I need help. I have narrowed down the search to these two. What do you think? Which is your favorite? Of course they will come in my favorite color, Black. The first gate is 14'wide and nine feet tall in the center. The second gate is 14' wide x 10'2 inches tall.
I'm leaning toward the last gate but do you think it's too formal and ornate. It will hang from a set of rock and brick columns. I would really like your opinion. I will place my order this weekend. What do you think????

A House Divided

A house divided on antibiotics. Lauren went to the Doctor on Sunday with pinkeye and a temp. Tuesday, Jeremy had strep throat and Anna had an ear infection. Today, Kristin went to the doctor with strep. 4 days and 4 different antibiotics. We would love to give this stuff away...any takers?????
